The classic space shooter will make a long-awaited return on Nintendo’s latest console next year.
It sure looked like Shigeru Miyamoto was playing Star Fox on Wii U at the end of that Nintendo Direct presentation today, didn’t it? Well guess what: he was! Star Fox for Wii U has officially been confirmed by Nintendo at E3 following the stream of their presentation. The game is currently slated for release in 2015, and does not have an official title just yet.
IGN has reported the news of Star Fox Wii U, which will see the GamePad being used as a first-person cockpit. Miyamoto will be involved in the development of the game, as well as two other upcoming games called Project Giant Robot and Project Guard.
Even though we did find it a little strange that Nintendo didn’t put a bigger Star Fox teaser at the end of their presentation, who cares? STAR FOX IS COMING TO WII U! Now if that’s not going to be a system seller for old-school Nintendo fans, then I don’t know what is.
