Remember the naughty Conker's Bad Fur Day? Well, its foul-mouthed hero's making a return as a series on Project Spark.

Seeing the name Conker in the headline above will probably have many readers thinking back wistfully to Rare's brilliant, very rude Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64 - a 3D platformer that didn't sell brilliantly well, but rapidly became a cult classic.

While it's true that the game's boozy star Conker the Squirrel is making a comeback, it's not quite the sequel we've been looking for. Instead, he'll be appearing in Microsoft's create-and-share gaming platform Project Spark.

Created by Project Spark developers Team Dakota, Conker's Big Reunionwill take the form of a series of downloadable, episodic adventures, with the action picking up a decade after the original game.

There'll be added authenticity thanks to voice actor Chris Seaver returning as Conker, and the episodes have been made with the blessing of Rare, who've also been providing creative feedback, according to a piece over on IGN.

Conker's appearance in Project Spark will also mean that its users will be able to make their own sweary squirrel-themed levels and games with its assets, so we could see all kinds of strange and scatological creations appearing online over the next few months.

Conker's Big Reunion will appear on the 23rd April. And who knows - if it's popular enough, maybe it'll coax Rare (or someone) into making a fully-fledged sequel.
