Mourning the loss of PT, the cancelled Silent Hill game from Konami? Then the fan-made Allison Road might just fill the gap...
NewsHideo Kojima's departure from Konami earlier this year didn't just raise questions about the future of Metal Gear- the franchise Kojima created and nurtured since 1987. It also brought about the death of Silent Hills, the potentially brilliant creative collaboration between Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro.
Days after it cancelled Silent Hills in April, Konami took the unusual step of removing its demo, PT, from the PlayStation Store. And thus one of the most promising horror games of recent times seemed to vanish forever.
Since then, a group of fans have been creating something called Allison Road - their own recreation of PT, which is accurate right down to the incredibly detailed house you got to explore in Konami's now-vanished game.
Created in Unreal Engine 4, Allison Road sees you spend five nights in a mysterious house where all kinds of unknown terrors hide. It looks magnificent, as you can see from the gameplay footage below.
You can find out more about the project at Steam Greenlight. It's currently scheduled for completion in 2016.
