From the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog comes Rodea the Sky Soldier. Here's a brand new trailer...
NewsYuji Naka was still a teenager when he joined Sega in the early 80s, and his early work included programming duties on the likes of Phantasy Star and the Sega Mega Drive conversion of Ghouls N Ghosts.
But in the early 90s, he headed up the game that would make Sega globally famous: the high-octane platformer, Sonic The Hedgehog. Until he left the company in 2006 to found his own company, Prope, Naka continued to produce various Sonic sequels and spinoffs, but also headed up some refreshingly different games, too, including Burning Rangers and the superb Nights Into Dreams.
Naka's latest game is called Rodea The Sky Soldier, which is coming out this autumn for the 3DS, Wii and Wii U. It's a much more ambitious game than Naka's other games he's created through Prope, like the fun-but-slight puzzle game Ivy The Kiwi. In fact, you can readily see the similarity between Rodea and Naka's 3D games like Sonic Adventure and Nights Into Dreams.
Just to make the creative link between Rodea and Sonic clear, the former's lead character even has spiky hair...
Rodea The Sky Soldier is out on October 13th.
