Arnold Schwarzenegger's robotic alter-ego will be a pre-order bonus this October. Check out this trailer where he confronts Dean Ambrose.
TrailerWith WWE 2K16 coming out in just a few months, 2K has been talking about the roster a lot. Long-retired Steve Austin is on the cover. NXT names like Finn Balor and Alexa Bliss will be in there, giving us more than 120 unique wrestlers on the roster. It’s the biggest roster ever...even with *cough* Hulk Hogan suddenly being removed...
Anyway! They made a big deal about a non-wrestler making his first appearance in the game. Sure, they’ve done this before, like when Mike Tyson was featured as a playable character. But who could it possibly be this time?
Turns out it’s the Terminator, as played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. As shown in this trailer, the T-800 will be an exclusive to those who preorder. The trailer is also a perfect recreation of the opening of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, only with wrestlers. Those anti-smoking sponsors probably aren’t going to be thrilled.
This has been a rather...peculiar year when it comes to WWE relations with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (which is so exclusive that Hulk Hogan isn’t even in it!) due to that time he beat up Triple H on Smackdownmany years ago to promote End of Days. Then the next night, at WrestleMania, Arnold – in character as the Terminator – introduced Triple H to the ring for his big match against Sting. Triple H proceeded to be flanked by Terminator endoskeletons and carried a series of robot heads around as trophies while being dressed as a cybernetic Shao Kahn. Then when Terminator: Genisys came out, WWE released a video that tried to play up Roman Reigns as being basically the company’s version of the Terminator. Until thirty seconds later when they suddenly gave that label to Brock Lesnar.
So is the Terminator allowed to submit? Seeing him tap out to the STF would just seem wrong. That's the most un-Terminator thing he can do.
WWE 2K16 will hit stores Oct. 27 for XBO, PS4, X360, and PS3.
