Capcom's Mega Man is heading to the movies, courtesy of 20th Century Fox.
News20th Century Fox hasn't been put off videogame movies by the slow box office performance of Hitman: Agent 47. The studio is now turning its attention to Capcom's Mega Man series.
Dating back to 1987, Mega Man is a character who, once he's defeated an enemy, can mimic its weapons. He's appeared in over 50 games to date, with Mega Man Legacy Collection just released and collecting together the first six games.
The new film is being developed for Fox by Peter Chernin, via his Chernin Entertainment company, who's also been involved with the reboot of the Planet of the Apes saga. There's no writer or director attached at the moment, since it's very early days for the project. As we hear more, we'll let you know...
