Doom creator John Romero has created a new level for the original game!
John Romero, the man responsible for years of demon carnage, has created his first Doom level in 21 years. The developer announced the new level for the franchise's original game over Twitter and was even nice to include a download link:
It's been 21 years since I made a DOOM level. Here's my version of E1M8 using DOOM1.WAD. https://t.co/ueKM7gBbXdpic.twitter.com/NlmA9aIALN

The new level is called "Tech Gone Bad," which reimagines the Phobos Anomaly from the first game. Sandy Peterson, who was a level designer on the first two Doomgames, created the original level. Romero used only "shareware assets" to create reimagining.
Romero is not involved in the franchise's fourth installment, simply titled Doom, which is the fourth game id Software has developed under Bethesda Softworks, whose parent company, ZeniMax Media, purchased id in 2009. Romero left id in 1996.
There's no release date for the new Doom, although it is expected in 2016. For now, why not give "Tech Gone Bad" a shot?
