The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD - New Footage

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is coming to the Wii U in a HD update. Here's a look at its shiny new graphics...

The 3DS has played host to a number of great remakes from the Zeldaseries, from Ocarina of Time a few years back to last year's magnificently creepy Majora's Mask. The Wii U, meanwhile, is still waiting for its much-anticipated Zelda game, but it has at least had the charming Wind Waker HD to tide it over.

Now there's Twilight Princess HD, the remake of the 2006 game that introduced Midna and Wolf Link. As you can see from the new footage below, the decade-old GameCube and Wii entry really benefits from its crisp high-def remaster. It isn't just about spruced-up graphics, either. The slightly irksome controls of the Wii version are now gone, while tapping the Wii U's gamepad allows Link to transform into his wolf form with less faff than before.

There's amiibo support as well, predictably - the Wolf Link and Midna figures, which come packaged with the game in a special edition version, unlocks an additional dungeon and will, we're told, be compatible with the new Zelda game purportedly coming out this year.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is out on the March 4, 2016. Until then, see what you make of the game's new look in Nintendo Minute's new video.
