The strong, self-altering Chroma Squad will be available for many more platforms in 2017.

In September of 1994, the world was gifted with the official Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game for the SNES; a quirky beat-em-up that fulfilled the wishes of Power Rangers fans everywhere by allowing them to step into the boots of their favorite characters and beat up a variety of colorful batteries. Technically, that means that it's been 22 years since that game was released. Most fans, however, choose to remember the date by stating that it's been far too long since we've gotten a proper Power Rangers title.

While there is no great licenced Power Rangers game on the horizon, console gamers in need of an alternative will be happy to know that Chroma Squad, the 2015 Power Rangers-esque RPG hit, will be making its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and mobile devices in early 2017. Until then, be sure to repeatedly watch the game's legendary karaoke scored trailer:

As we're quite certain that Bandai Namco's lawyers have made perfectly clear to the Power Rangers people many times, Chroma Squad is not an official Power Rangers game. However, it's easy to see why the game's multi-colored main character warriors on a mission to purge the world from cartoonish evils via questionably performed martial art moves might give you the impression that it is.

Along with making relatively few efforts to disguise their affection for the Power Rangers show. developer Behold Studios also proudly showcase their love for tactical RPG games such as Final Fantasy Tactics via Chroma Squads turn and grid-based combat system that requires you to expertly maneuver your party into optimal locations so that they may utilize their flashiest abilities.

The marriage of these two loves yields some pretty incredible results. Chroma Squad has attracted quite the fan following due to its incredible sense of humor, unbelievable amounts of personality, and surprisingly involved ever-changing gameplay. While anyone that considers themselves to be a fan of the game's inspirations will certainly get the most out of it, anyone who has not yet been able to experience the game on PC will as of yet will want to keep a close eye out for its official multi-platform release date.
