If you've always felt that Dynasty Warriors was missing Ryu Hayabusa, this is the game for you.

There's a pretty good chance you didn't wake up today, or any other day, wondering what a Dynasty Warriors game starring the major players in the Koei Tecmo character lineup would look like, but the world of video games is a weird place, and, sometimes, that's exactly what you get.

After developing Dynasty Warriors-like games based on The Legend of Zelda characters and Dragon Quest characters, Koei Tecmo has reached into their own property inventory to produce Musuo Stars; a Dynasty Warriors kind of game that features heroes from several popular Tecmo franchises. In case you're now suddenly very curious as to what that looks like, then be sure to check out the game's pretty sweet trailer below:

Depending on your level of fandom as it concerns Japanese Tecmo properties, you may or may not recognize all of the games characters featured in that trailer. In case you do not, the full line-up as it currently stands is Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden), Oka (Toukiden), Sophie (Atelier), Sanada Yukimura (Samurai Warriors), Zhao Yun (Dynasty Warriors), Hajime Arima (Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time), and Kasumi (Dead or Alive). This being a game of the Dynasty Warriors mold, however, you can expect that a few hidden characters are bound to turn up at some point.

It's a pretty unique roster to say the least, and, while the game will undoubtedly appeal most to those who are familiar with all the properties it features, this being a Dynasty Warriors game, even those that don't necessarily have a personal connection with every single character will still find it amusing to wade through legions of enemies utilizing anime level powers and weaponry.

Musuo Stars is currently set to release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita next year in Japan. There's no word yet on a Western release.
