There's no stopping the world's biggest mobile game.

It might feel like the hype surrounding Pokemon GO is starting to die down a bit, but don't take that to mean that the world's most popular mobile game isn't still a financial juggernaut.
In fact, the data analytical firm Newzoo is reporting that an astonishing 700,000 people download Pokemon GO every single day. So while recent reports have suggested that Pokemon GO has lost upwards of 79% of its paying players since the game's launch, this influx of new users means that the game is still earning $2 million a day through in-app purchases.
That's pretty incredible, but it's still nothing compared to what Pokemon GO has managed to achieve since launch. All told, Pokemon GO has been installed over 550 million times and has thus far earned over $470 million in total sales. Much of this money was earned around three weeks after Pokemon GO first launched when the game was at its supposed revenue peak and bringing in $16 million daily.
There are a few things to consider when looking at these numbers. First off, remember that Pokemon GO had a pretty unusual launch schedule and wasn't made available to many players outside of the initial test markets for several weeks. This might help to explain how the game has continued to grow despite the fact that it is well past its boom period. Indeed, major markets like China and South Korea are still waiting for an official release.
Pokemon GO's success goes even further than that, however. According to this same report, it's not just casual mobile players that are obsessing over the game. In fact, 80 percent of Smite and Dota 2 players have played Pokemon GO within the last three months, and 43 percent of the game's players are women which makes Pokemon GO by far the most popular mobile title in that demographic.
Such as it stands, then, don't expect Pokemon GO to go away anytime soon.
