According to Eurogamer, a third Pokemon Sun and Moontitle is in the works for the Nintendo Switch, titled Pokemon Stars. The game will reportedly arrive next year, some time after the release of Nintendo's new console/handheld hybrid. This ties into an earlier story published by The Wall Street Journal back in September that confirmed that The Pokemon Company would be making games for the then unnamed Nintendo platform.
Pokemon Starshas reportedly been in development since Game Freak began working on Sunand Moon, and was originally slated for a summer 2017 release, but was delayed due to the developer shifting focus on finishing the first two titles for 3DS.
The outlet has also heard from sources that Stars will feature the same map, locales and art style of the aforementioned 3DS games, but with improved visuals. The game is reportedly being developed with "separate, higher-resolution assets" than what fans will experience in Pokemon Sunand Moon.

Eurogamer reports that Sun, Moon, and Stars will be able to interact with each other, at least when it comes to trading Pokemon between the three games. Players can use the Pokemon Bank app to trade, which will come in handy if this next bit is true: Pokemon Stars could feature additional Pokemon to catch, although this was not confirmed by Eurogamer's sources.
In fact, none of this is confirmed by Nintendo and should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. We'll make sure to bring you more Pokemon and Nintendo Switch news as we learn it!
