With the countdown set to end right around E3, could this spell the news of a new Mortal Kombat game or the Injustice sequel?
Rumors are running rampant that the announcement of a new Mortal Kombat game or an Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 is imminent. IGN noted that an interesting countdown of sorts has cropped up on MKco-creator Ed Boon’s Twitter in the form of daily questions. The first question asked for the square root of 841, while the second question wanted to know how many days are in the month of February on a non-leap year.
The answers to both of these Twitter questions are 29 and 28, respectively, and if this trend seems to continue, then it looks like we are going to get some kind of cryptic announcement in 27 days’ time: which just so happens to be right around this year’s E3. The last official entry in the iconic fighting series was 2011’s Mortal Kombat, while NetherRealm Studios has also been keeping busy since then with Injustice: Gods Among Us and its purported sequel, Injustice: Gods Among Us 2.

So what do you think? Is another Mortal Kombat game announcement on the horizon in the upcoming weeks? Or could the countdown have something to do with the Injustice: Gods Among Us sequel? Jump aboard the hype train in the replies!
