Batman: Arkham Knight won't be here until 2015, but watch five minutes of gameplay, including Batmobile action, right here.
To the Batmobile! That's what Bat-gamers have been waiting to say virtually all of our lives, right? We've been able to do some Batmobile driving in the past (notably in the side-scrolling Sega Genesis era adaptation of the Tim Burton Batmanmovie), but never anything like what you're about to see in this gameplay footage from Batman: Arkham Knight.
Watch it here, catch your breath, and then we'll talk:
The design of the Batmobile itself looks like a cross between the Burton-era Batmobile and the armored, functional "tumbler" Batmobile of the Christopher Nolan Dark Knighttrilogy. There seems to be some similarity between this and what is on display in the only photo released so far from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well. But, y'know, just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier...it transforms around the two minute mark.
And no, do not adjust your monitor settings. That's just a really intimidating version of the Scarecrow here to let you know that he's going to make your life difficult. All told, if this is what we're going to get from Arkham Knight, it will all be well worth the wait.
