You'll probably remember Pillars Of Eternityappearing on Kickstarter - particularly if you were one of the people who backed it to the tune of almost $4 million back in 2012.

The campaign promised a classic fantasy RPG in the mould of Baldur's Gate - and Pillars Of Eternity (or Project Eternity, as it was called back then) has a sterling pedigree. It's from Obsidian, the studio behind Fallout New Vegasand Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II, and founded by such game design legends as Chris Avellone and Feargus Urquhart, who previously made the Baldur's Gate series at Black Isle Studios.

Pillars Of Eternity is clearly in the vein of those classic games, coupled with the kind of visual polish we'd expect from a modern game. After more than two years in development, the game's on its final stretch: Obsidian has announced that Pillars Of Eternity will launch on March 26 for PC.

"We want to thank all our fans for being so engaged with the game's development," said Obsidian's Feargus Urquhart, "and for giving us the time to implement their suggestions and ensure Pillars Of Eternity is a game we can be proud of."

Obsidian will also be showing off the game on Twitch at 9pm tonight (that's the 15th January). You can find the stream page here.
