Your childhood dreams of a being a space janitor are about to come true.

Even with the diversity of the indie game scene, it's still shocking to think that there are multiple games out there that allow people to live out their janitorial dreams and even more shocking to think that nobody has come close to replacing Viscera Cleanup Detail as the king of the janitor genre.

That is, until now.

Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor comes to us from our friends at tinyBuild Games, who have spent the last couple of years publishing games that just make you go "huh?"

This latest title from developer Sundae Moth certainly fits that billing, as it allows you to explore a detail-rich space station in pursuit of adventure, love, and spare bits of scrap that you'll want to pick up and dispose of right away, unless you're aiming to get fired. While Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor does emphasize a "work will set you free" philosophy that values labor above all, those looking to escape the grind will find plenty of opportunities to do so in the form of lottery games and other typical blue-collar diversions, such as deciphering ritual objects and warding off ancient spirits.

Anyone looking for a strict janitorial simulator will surely scoff at the game's many deviations from standard custodial operating procedures, but those who seek a slightly obtuse and inherently weird game that just so happens to be based around picking up trash in order to keep the paychecks flowing will find Diarieson Steam for $7.99 until September 23rd at which point the game will go up to its retail price of $9.99.
