Even more incentive to play every day.

Earning resources in Pokemon GO is about to get a lot easier as developer Niantic is adding daily quests to the game.
In a post on the Pokemon GOwebsite, the team outlined how the new quests will work. Here's a breakdown of the rewards system:
Catching Your First Pokemon For The Day: 500 XP and 600 Stardust
Catching A Pokemon Every Day For 7 Days Straight: 2,000 XP and 2,400 Stardust
Visiting A PokeStop and Spinning The Photo Disc Each Day: 500 XP and additional items
Visiting A PokeStop Every Day For 7 Days Straight: 2,000 XP and a greater number of additional items
These bonuses will reset every day at 12 AM local time.
It's interesting to see the team go with a set quest format as opposed to a random selection of quests to complete each day as some other games that implement a similar format utilize. This system should add some consistency to the completion process, however, as players will know exactly what they need to do each day.
As for some of the game's other most requested updates, there is no word regarding their status at this time. Niantic had previously tested a GPS tracking system among a very small percent of the game's players (it was reported to be available to less than 1% of all total users), but they have not since provided any update regarding the current state of that system.
We hope this latest addition to the game is just the start of many new updates to come.
